#1000IconicArTToyExhibitions / Entry I

The Beginning of the First Global Atlas of ArT Toy Exhibitions
Published under
Art Toy Gama Diaries

This isn’t a launch.
It’s a
diary entry with a heartbeat.
The start of something that’s taken years to feel ready.
The beginning of a
Book Series.
But also, the continuation of a
Movement.

You don’t start writing a Book Series like this because You want to.
You start because something has been knocking inside You for years.
And one day, you realize:
the
POSTERS you’ve been collecting digitally, quietly, obsessively…
were trying to tell the story of an entire Movement.

[1] The First Book I Never Meant To Write
Back in 2002, I wrote what was technically a Practicum for my Master’s degree in Law.
But in reality, it felt like my first book.

I was a young student from the North of Spain, living in Madrid for the first time, far from home, sharing a flat, learning how to exist outside everything familiar.
The internet was still in its early years. Research meant hours in physical university libraries. Digging. Cross-checking. Reading documents that didn’t want to be found.

I wrote surrounded by my flatmates.
A cheap laptop on the table.
The TV often on.
Light coming in through the balcony until late at night.

That Practicum wasn’t just an academic requirement.
It was the first time I tried to give structure to chaos.
The first time I understood what it means to research deeply, to connect fragments, to turn information into meaning.

And now, in 2026, it’s happening again.
Different subject. Same intensity. Same obsession.
Only this time, I’m not writing about law.
I’m writing
a Book about ArT Toys.

[2] This Isn“t Just a Book.

This is the first time I sit down to write a book, really write one.
And even though it’s about
Art Toys, it doesn’t feel like a book about objects.
More than anything, it wants to become the
First Global Atlas of ArT Toy Exhibitions.

That’s why we’re starting with the POSTERS.
Because they don’t just announce events.
They reveal eras.
They reflect intention, identity, context, urgency.
Each one is a snapshot of the movement becoming itself.

But we’re not compiling content.
We’re not archiving.
We’re trying to translate their emotion into legacy…
Because we think this isn't just about memory; it’s about what memory can still ignite.

[3] 26 Years with Cristina. And countless Posters.

I’ve been drawn to posters since I met Cristina. That was 26 years ago.
We’d walk through the streets, and if I saw one that spoke to me, especially music
Posters, I’d take it with me.
I wouldn’t frame them. I’d keep them. Quietly.
They felt like fragments of something bigger.

Coldplay? That became something else entirely.
I collect magazine and newspaper covers from around the world where they appear.
I’ve got over 400 now.
Not just because I’m a fan.
But because every cover is a story.
A way to trace history with your hands.
To read how they were seen, described, remembered.

That’s what Exhibition POSTERS do too.
They don’t just illustrate a show.
They map the soul of the Movement.

[4] We Weren“t Ready Back In 2014.

When we launched Art Toy Gama, we were still looking for our voice.
We knew we were part of something special,
but we didn’t have the clarity, or the obsession, we have now.

And we still don’t know everything.
Not even close.
We’re learning. Constantly.
Especially from the many professionals, curators, collectors and creators
who’ve been documenting
ArT Toys for years: through blogs, webs, social networks, archives, personal collections and quiet devotion.
People who started long before we did.
We owe them a lot.
And we hope this
Book Series adds something meaningful to that legacy.

[5] This Is Just The Start.

We’re not writing a definitive guide. That's not the point at all.
We’re just writing what we feel is missing from our shelf.
We know we’re not alone.
There’s a huge, vibrant, ever-evolving community out there.
And we’re just joining in.
Adding our perspective.
Bringing our own lens to a
Movement that needs more of them.

This is our way of saying:
We see You.
We remember.
We want to help carry this history forward,
Poster by Poster.

Where Posters Became History.

But that’s not all.
It’s also where we’ll be sharing the twists and turns of writing our first
Book… doubts, discoveries, delays, breakthroughs.
Even these emails will live there.
Because this isn’t just a
Book . It’s a creative journey.
And it’s one we want to share…
